Unveiling Feminism in Indian Mythology

This digital art project, much like Chitra Chitra Divakaruni’s ‘Palace of Illusions’, reimagines the timeless tale of Princess Panchaali from the Indian epic Mahabharata. Straying from her father's wish for her to embrace traditional feminine roles, Panchaali flees the confines of the palace every evening to seek knowledge under a tree. To me, she is an evocative symbol of women defying imposed limitations, and embracing intellectual curiosity despite societal constraints.
